Sports

A lot of students in the Czech Republic do different kinds of sports in their free time. Universities also have physical education classes and it is compulsory to have credits in these classes. In the Czech Republic students are offered affordable prices for different sport activities.

 Entertainment and traveling

The affordable price of entertainment allows students to entertain themselves and have a rest from their studies. There are plenty of clubs, concert halls, sport halls and other facilities all over the country. On top of this, the vast majority of entertainment enterprises offer students a range of benefits and discounts.

On holidays, a lot of students travel around Europe, since it is close by and cheap. Everybody travels for different reasons:  some students want to visit their friends and pen pals and see other countries or just travel; others go with the intention of earning some money or learning foreign languages.

Czech Republic is one of Schengen Convention states, therefore students don’t need to apply for additional visas for any of the 26 Schengen countries (Austria, Belgium, Hungary, Germany, Greece, Denmark, Italy, Spain, Iceland, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, France, Finland, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden, Estonia).

Balls

Balls are very popular in the Czech Republic and take place from January to March every year. Balls are organized by different student and non-profit organizations and companies.

Festivals and Exhibitions

There is a large number of festivals and exhibitions, considerably diverse in trends and themes – musical, dance, tourist, scientific and so on.

Majales

Majales – it is a holiday of spring and students’ life.
