Trebon

The resort town of Trebon is located in Trebon valley, in the area of fish ponds. The largest of these ponds called  Rozmberk occupies an impressive 489 hectares. During medieval times, the marshy area was transformed into a network of water canals and artificial reservoirs. Fish breeding (mainly carp), at the time of Rozmberk’s rule, was the main sector of the economy of this region. The Renaissance castle emerged as a result of the rebuilding of the fortress founded by the Vitkovich family.

The city surrounded by fortifications is protected as a cultural heritage. At the local resorts, locomotive system impairments are treated. The ponds make the city attractive for recreation and water sports.
